Sigiriya is one of Sri Lanka’s most priceless historical sites. Dambulla cave temples are located in Dambulla town, Matale district, Central province of Sri Lanka. It is considerd as the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Though there are about 80 caves in the surrounding area, only five caves are considered as major attractions. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses. These caves have been made in the age of Anuradhapura (1st century BC to 993 AD) & Polonnaruwa (1073 to 1250).

Pidurangala rock is located 15-20 minutes away from Sigiriya Lion Rock. This rock gives a scenic view of Sigiriya Lion Rock and the surroundings. Pidurangala rock is a buddhist temple which is located near Sigiriya Lion Rock & Pidurangala has been one of the best tourist attraction because of its scenic view.
