Kitulgala is a small town in Sri Lanka which is located in Sabaragamuwa province, Kegalle district. Kelani river flows through Kitulgala & that is where you can experience adventure water sports in Kitulgala. You can reach this picturesque area in a two-hour drive on the Nuwara Eliya-Avissawella Road when you proceed from Nuwara Eliya. It lies in the wet zone rainforest, which gets two monsoons each year, and is one of the wettest places in the country. Nevertheless, it comes alive in the first three months of the year, especially in February, the driest month.
Kitulgala water sports are very famous among both foreign & local tourists. Kitulgala’s main attraction is White water rafting where you can ride the tides of Kelani River. Other than that, it’s popular for sports like confidence jump, Stream Sliding, Waterfall abseiling, Jungle trekking. Bird watching and cave exploration and last but not least river trips and expeditions.
