Adams peak off season hike via wilderness sanctuary

Adam’s Peak is one of the most popular hikes among Sri Lankans because of its religious value. There is a season for this wonderful hike which is December to May & then May to December is considered as off season for the hike. April is the most crowded month for Adam’s Peak because of Sinhala Hindu New Year festival. In off season the area gets much lone that you can not see even one man in this sanctuary. This is a great opportunity for those who are interested in hiking & trekking. This trek is not through the usual way to Adam’s Peak. On this tour you will be on a footpath through the Adam’s Peak sanctuary. The contours of Adam’s Peak Wilderness vary from 1000 to 7360 feet above sea level. Therefore, it possesses unusual geographical formations compared to the other natural reserves of the island. Access to the mountain is possible by 6 trails: Ratnapura-Palabaddala, Hatton-Nallathanniya, Kuruwita-Erathna, Murray estate, Mooku estate & Malimboda. The Nallathanni & Palabaddala routes are most favored by those undertaking the climb, while the Kuruwita-Erathna trail is used less often; these trails are linked to major cities or town by bus, accounting for their popular use.
