Galle is a city in Sri Lanka, situated on the southwestern tip, 119 km (74 mi) from Colombo. Galle is the provincial capital and largest city of Southern Province, Sri Lanka and is the capital of Galle District. Another thing you can experience in Galle is stilt fisherman. Fishing has been a major profession of living in southern coast of Sri Lanka but the difference of this stilts fisherman is they do their hunt by sitting on a stick which has been stuck in the middle of the sea water.To fish while sitting on a stilt has been a unique way for fishermen to catch fish while in the water. It has also become a certain hallmark of Sri Lanka.
